Where SCIFI rules….

Wreck…WTF!?

Surfing around the I discovered the new J.J. Abrams project - Cloverfield, Monstrous, 1-18-08… whatever is now being called “Wreck”. The Scifi Channel’s website (which is the only thing worth about the channel lately) posted a link to the Bloody Disgusting website. Here’s the quote:

Get more Cloverfield (Untitled JJ Abrams Project) news

I can pretty much guarantee that by us reporting this, it will either be denied or changed - again. We learned exclusively here at Bloody-Disgusting that JJ Abrams’ monster movie was in fact going to be titled “Monstrous”, but was changed the second it hit the web (man we all gossip way too much!) Now it’s our turn to ruin a possible title for the Matt Reeves’ helmed giant monster movie, which wrapped last month in Los Angeles and New York… the title just might be……….

The user comments all sum up the feeling that Wreck is the lamest title for this movie. One person “Moonset” remarked that it should be called 1-18-08. Having a number title does set it apart from being different from other movies for example ID4 works much better as a title than Independence Day. Myself, Monstrous was and still a cool title.

    English Translation:

What’s up guys? Haven’t you noticed that this movie is bad, bad ha ha. We see in the trailer, I will give you one example
Did you see the head of the “statue of liberty”, it does not have the proportion or the size of the original. (Which is ten times bigger,) And if you look closely there is more… obviously you must find out for yourselves.

  2. So did you guys see the movie after talking so much about it before it was released? Turned out to be a pretty good flick. Forget the big name attached to it. JJ Abrams was the name that got it funding. Drew Goddard (who had wrtten some great material for Buffy The Vampire Slayer) was the actual scribe of the piece. I think this old post deserves some updating.
