Richard O’Brien is WHO?!?!

For the past couple of months, I’ve been watching Disney’s Phineas and Ferb on late sunday mornings/late afternoons. The first show which caught my attention was called S’Winter. There was a great deal humor dealing with the kids, Phineas and Ferb, trying to create a period between Summer and Winter; hence S’Winter. The musical number was absolutely funny for me to appreciate as an adult. Look at the video below.

However today, I decided to look up on IMDB.COM on the cast of Phineas and Ferb. The mom is played by Caroline Rhea from Sabrina the Teenage Witch and as well as being a stand up comedian. Ashley Tisdale plays Candance the sister to Phineas and Ferb who is no stranger to Disney HSM 1,2, and 3 and other projects. Isabella, friend to Candance and I think has a crush of Phineas, is played by Alyson Stoner. I remember watching her from Disney’s Mike’s Super Short Show which appeared only during commercials for other Disney shows.

Now, the very odd and mind blowing cast is the Dad. Those of my generation and older will recognize the name Richard O’Brien. If the name is unfamiliar but are aware of  The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Richard was Riff Raff. Hence, the picture on the left. While I find Richard in a Disney show to be the complete 180 degree opposite of Rocky Horror, it’s great to see him or rather hear him again even in an animated series. Side note, Barry Bostwick and Tim Curry have also appeared on the show but never in the same scene to make a psuedo Rock Horror reunion.
