I found this tidbit on

Josh Duhamel (Transformers) and Bijou Phillips (Hostel: Part 2) have both tested for unspecified roles in George Miller’s Justice League of America.

I’m not sure about Bijou Phillips as Wonder Woman but I saw an actress that would be right for the part. As my wife and I were watching Chuck, we both agreed Sarah Lancaster, who plays Chuck’s sister Ellie, would make a great Wonder Woman. Take a look at the picture below and decide for yourself.

A good part of this episode reminded me of Pan’s Labyrinth minus the extreme violence. However, the overall episode was a fair viewing despite one of the most dark endings I’ve seen.

The Bad

In the being, we see that Jack is having a nightmare about an eariler time in his life. As we find out, these men were under Jack’s commanded and had accidentily killed a child (chosen one). I understand why the men where killed but why did Jack survive? The whole flashback reminded me of Adrian Paul’s Highlander series which this was used in every show. This plot device was effective on the Highlander series to show the lengthy backstory but with Jack, I am still not clear about his timeline as he was from the future and now immortal.

Estelle takes a picture of the fairies in the beginning of this episode and then about halfway in the show, she drowns in the rain they caused. Why did they kill her? What Jack’s men did, as I mentioned above, made sense to kill them but not Estelle.

While I like the take of Fairies being the warm and cuddly type, the actual daytime interaction they had with the humans was below par as the acting was just terrible. I understand the limits of television but I have seen better f/x.

The Good

The character of Estelle was shortlived in the episode but the few scenes she had with Jack were very sweet and touching. After her death, Jack holds her in his arms and we get the strong sense of emotion about how much he loved and cared for her.

In the end, Jack decides to let the Fairies take the girl into their world. This was not his decision to make as a mother is now childless. The rest of the team was totally against Jack that they walked away from their leader. I was surprised they left this ending as is.  A much stronger effect would have been for the team to drive off without Jack rather than just waiting for him to get in the van and drive off.

Overall, this spotlight episode on Jack is okay. I was left with more questions not about what will happen next in the series but rather why certain things felt rushed in this story.

Robots, androids, replicants, automaton, mechanical man, skin jobs, cybermen, bionic person, cyborg, gynoid, fem bot, droids, toasters, or walking computer; no matter how you put it these artificial life forms are intriguing if not fascinating. I have never really found robots to be sexy until I found the artwork of Hajime Sorayama. The picture above is just one of many airbrushed pieces he has worked on. Take a look at his website if you are interested in more by going to this link.  So this begs the question, why this entry about sex with robots?

I found an interesting article about sex with robots which you can read more about here. Here’s a brief blurb:

Humans could marry robots within the century. And consummate those vows.

“My forecast is that around 2050, the state of Massachusetts will be the first jurisdiction to legalize marriages with robots,” artificial intelligence researcher David Levy at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands told LiveScience. Levy recently completed his Ph.D. work on the subject of human-robot relationships, covering many of the privileges and practices that generally come with marriage as well as outside of it.

At first, sex with robots might be considered geeky, “but once you have a story like ‘I had sex with a robot, and it was great!’ appear someplace like Cosmo magazine, I’d expect many people to jump on the bandwagon,” Levy said.

As technology increases the capacity of today’s robots, I would agree that the application of sexual relations will have to be implemented as well. Any new technology, we, as people, manage to put “sex” as a critical componet towards usage. The internet gave birth to porn sites, sexually explicit pictures, and videos which we can have access. In an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation – “The Naked Now”, Data is a fully functional automaton capable of multiple techniques as Tasha Yar experienced. If Star Trek has predicted upcoming human history, we need to be prepared for the consequences.

As the next generation robots come online, do we treat them like a computer or tool which makes our lives better? In “The Measure of a Man” episode, Data was treated as Starfleet property where their orders overrode any needs Data might have desired. Will sex robots be permitted to perform to our needs and not theirs? Would these robots reduce the amount of sexual violence or be substituted to replace those who might be targeted otherwise? If you have not seen A.I., this was a disturbing but brilliant film about the not to distant future where robots are used for a variety of reasons.

Despite the dark road of sex with robots, the fantasy is still interesting for me wonder what the experience would be like. Will these sexbots be more of the cold steel variety in the female form as Sorayama has drawn or will they appear to be more human than human like Pris, Zhora, and Rachel the replicants from Blade Runner?

Yahoo! Launches The World of Star Wars « The Official Star Wars Blog

Before I went to bed, I checked out this link to see what this was about. I’m not clear about this site as I’ve seen many other Star Wars fan based website like THEFORCE.NET or the Wookiepedia. This site doesn’t appear to be much different than those mentioned. Perhaps, I was looking for something new and different about the series. I did however came across this picture of Luke and Leia from The Empire Strikes Back where they were about to kiss. Obviously from a deleted scene but I’ve never seen this picture before. Take a look at the site and let me know what you think.
