If you’re like me you love some Olivia Munn from G4TV. However, if you have no idea about Bing, you may not understand why Olivia is attached to promote this search engine… sorry decision engine. In the race to make Google less Google for answers, there are two new engine that are creating new niches. If you follow me on Twitter, I tweeted about Wolfram Alpha.  While I first thought this Wolfram Alpha was Wolfram Hart from Angel, this engine does calculations and more than just 2+2. You can calculate distance, currency, and even ponder what is the meaning of life. Click here to type in the question, “What is the meaning of Life?” If you are a big scifi reader, you’ll find the answer to be quite brilliant.

Now, moving on to Bing, I first discovered this last week at my libraries computer. At first, I thought someone had downloaded a file which installed a new crappy search engine. As I investigated, Bing is the relaunch of MSN Live Search. Unlike Wolfram Alpha, Bing is “not a search engine” but a decision engine. I played around with some of the functions and the jury is still out. The best feature I liked was the Travel function. Aside from comparing prices from different sites, the was a 7-Day Price Predictor which gives you advise as to when you should buy or wait to purchase tickets. On that alone,  Bing wins hands down for relaying this type of information. Other travel sites promise to give you the lowest fare or some type of rebate but why shell out the money now if you don’t.

Tomorrow, Hulu will have a Bing-A-Thon with Olivia Munn and Jason Sudeikis at 8pm. In the meantime, check out this Olivia video as seen on G4.
