Terminator-cast

We have now Terminator Genisys to look forward next year; I guess? I am a bit miffed and confused and have the same look on my face as Matt Smith by this new go around in the T franchise. Let me begin with this, I really liked Terminator: Salvation. This movie really made up for the shitty #3 though the Terminatrix – Kristanna Locken was hot. The Sarah Connor Chronicles tv series was good for the first season and was tied in with Salvation. There were to be at least two more movies after Salvation before we get to see Reese being sent back in time to protect Sarah Connor thereby completing the circle with the first movie. Genisys looks that movie less one movie plus a twist.

I’ve watched this trailer several times to get a sense of what this movie was try to do plus I read something online that made me say WTF?!?

Six years after we collectively decided to forget “Terminator: Salvation” ever happened, Arnold Schwarzenegger is back to resuscitate the franchise.

In the first full trailer for Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions “Terminator: Genisys,” Sarah Connor Emilia Clarke explains that somehow the Trousers of Time™ have split, and we’re in a new leg/reality now. One where Connor was raised by Schwarzengger’s T-800 and became a stone cold badass years before her alternate personality in the Prime timeline

Before I go off the deep end, I have to remember, this is not the first time that a movie that is part of a franchise went back to its origins like Back to the Future II overlap the same events from Back to the Future I. However, the events pretty much stayed the same except for the alternate 1985 but even then things went back into place. Still, I can go one better and mention the Planet of the Apes series that started in 1968. Ok, do I need to do a spoiler alert for a 40+ year old movie?

Astronaut Taylor (Heston) believed he landed on a planet where apes evolved but to only discover, he had been on Earth the entire time. The evidence to that was him see the remains of the Statue of Liberty at the climax of the movie. He yells, “You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!” In the second movie, Beneath the Planet of the Apes the climax was a last fight between the Apes and the mutant humans. The humans had a bomb which was detonated and supposedly destroyed the world. The 3rd movie, Escape from the Planet of the Apes had 3 apes from the first two movies got into Taylor spaceship and somehow traveled back in time to present day which back then was 1971. The events from this movie on changed the future of what we knew from the first Planet of the Apes movie. So, is this was we are seeing with an alternate Terminator origin story?
