Splitting ‘Batman V Superman’ Into Two Films Is A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Idea

I’ve held off on commenting on this “supposed” movie split rumor about the Batman v Superman movie. I would rather believe that Castro is dead first before believing this shit to be true. That being said, the article below made an excellent point on how this movie unlike many last movie of a franchise can afford to split the movie in two parts. Franchises like Twilight, Harry Potter, Hunger Games and the Avengers 3, down the road, the studios can dangles these two parters like a carrot in front of a donkey cart; you can almost taste the ending but not just yet. The exception to this rule is The Hobbit; one book, one movie, no more. Breaking this one book into 3 movies was overkill and yet the box office numbers says otherwise. Now, BvS does not deserve this split treatment which I agree with the article because 1) DC/WB haven’t been as productive with their properties as Disney/Marvel, and 2) the source material has yet to be proven. Yes, Nolan’s Batman was a huge success and Synder’s Superman did not do as well but it was just enough to merit this upcoming movie to see both properties on the same screen. So what’s in it for them to do this?

Let’s look at the “date” 10/23/2015 and pretend this is true. Why would this date make sense? By this time, Avenger Age of Ultron is done killing the box office in May, Ant-Man… I still don’t know in August and then we have Star Wars VII out in December.  This would give BvS and two month window to promote the film before this date and kill the competition when it’s released because there will be none though the Jem and The Holograms might give them a run; right? In November, the 2nd half of the last Hunger Games movie will come out but seriously, there’s nothing during this time period so, if you’re gonna pick a date, I would say, this would make the most sense. We shall see if this rumor come true. Besides, Castro can’t live forever.

I do not believe the current rumor that Batman v Superman is being split into two movies. More importantly, I sincerely hope it’s not true.

Someone somewhere dropped a picture online yesterday which implied that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was being split into two films, with the first installment, entitled Enter the Knight, arriving on October 23rd of this year. Even though we all know it’s probably not true, a number of sites ran with it because it’s good for traffic and they can get two stories out of it once it’s debunked. Considering I am fashioning an article out of it too, I will not judge. Yes I know the last time I presumed that a rumor about a major superhero film being split into two parts was malarkey didn’t quite work out for me (stupid Infinity War!), so for now let’s just take an educated guess that it’s probably a fake rumor. So putting aside the fact that I think it is malarkey, I’d like to concentrate on why it would be a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad idea to split Batman v Superman into two films.
