monster-scifi-show-cover-versus-king-kong

This is a brand segment to The Monster Scifi Show called “Versus”.

The premise is to talk about and compared the original movie or work versus the remake or updated version. Does the original work still work today? Does the remake outshine the original? I’ll compare the the directors, the actors, the stories, and the music. Which movie will reign supreme?

Do I need to say more? This is the BEST trailer to date that gives a better understanding to the next Tron movie. I can not wait!!!!

tron legacy posterAfter almost a year of seeing the blurry at times video of Tron 2.o from Comic Con last year, we are treated to a fresh and spanking sharp trailer of not Tron 2.0 but Tron Legacy. In all honesty, until I just watched the this trailer did I understand the connection of the now old Flynn to the Flynn avatar program at the very end. Now it’s clear to me but has Flynn found a way to stay in the virtual world and has been as corrupted as Sark. I can not wait to see this can and gather more information. Don’t be suprise about hearing me doing a podcast in the future. I loved Tron movie, I loved the music by Wendy Carlos, and I loved by the Tron arcade game back in the 80’s. Good times, indeed and good times, ahead. Enjoy the trailer.

An interesting article I found:

The Dude talks Tron 2 and How to Lose Friends and Alienate People

“Ah, the G-string. You’ve got to love it. I’m wearing one now!” Jeff Bridges is sitting in the sunny surroundings of one of Santa Monica’s beachfront hotels, and, if he is wearing a G-string, it’s hidden beneath his blue jeans. Our conversation has turned to skimpy sartorial objects courtesy of Bridges’s decision to star in the new Tron movie; as fans of the original 1982 film will recall, back then he wore something that resembled a neon “mankini”. “I’m not sure if I’ll be wearing that again!” he laughs. “Seriously though, doing the new Tron movie is something that is just too good to pass up. It was the same with How To Lose Friends And Alienate People.”

Indeed, the New York Times once called him “the best actor alive”. “Are you serious?” he roars. “Man, I spend most of my time trying to avoid work!”

Q&A

You’ve been busy this year, but over the last couple of years you’ve made fewer movies. Why?

I spend a lot of time trying to resist doing anything, really! Honestly, there are a lot of things I love to do other than making movies, and I know that once I commit to a film it’s going to prevent me from doing any of these other things. So I do try and not commit; I try hard not to engage. But sometimes there’s an element in it which I just can’t resist. It changes with each movie. You can just get a feeling, and you don’t know what that is until you do the movie.

Is that why you signed up for the new Tron movie?

Yeah, that’s another unique, wild experience that was too good to turn down. Engaging in that world again feels just like it did all that time ago. Basically, I’m still a child, I love being childlike, and here was another chance to play with these crazy toys. And the cutting-edge technology makes it exciting. Doing the teaser trailer for Comic-Con, I had my first experience of motion capture. And that’s turning the industry on its head. It’s amazing being part of that.

I heard this was seen at San Diego Comic Con and now here is the video. The quality is crappy but what you can see is freakin’ amazing. The only thing that this new movie needs to do is come up with a better action figure than the unicolored figures. I’ve been waiting for this to happen for almost 26 years. I wonder if Wendy Carlos will provide the score. One of my all time favorite soundtracks. Very 80’s synth but would the new tracks be techno, trance, old school synth? Can’t wait to find out more.
